thelegal.guru — an iWalkedEarth undertaking. Last updated 9 July 2026. Draft — pending final review by counsel.
By creating an account or using thelegal.guru (the "Platform"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy & disclaimer. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. These Terms apply to members (readers), authors (contributors) and administrators.
thelegal.guru is a legal-research tool for professionals: a library of statutory material (Bare Acts, Rules, and CBDT/CBIC circulars & notifications), reference books, and an AI that answers questions grounded in, and citing, that loaded material. The AI is an aid, not advice. It can make mistakes; always read and verify the cited provision. Nothing on the Platform is legal, tax or professional advice, and no advocate–client or other professional relationship is created. You remain solely responsible for your professional judgement, advice and filings.
You must give accurate details and keep your password confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly of any unauthorised use. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms. One person per account; do not share credentials.
Access to paid features is by subscription and/or one-time purchases (books, soft copies, AI credit packs) at the prices shown at checkout, inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated. Subscriptions run for the stated term. Any auto-renewal, and how to cancel it, will be disclosed clearly at purchase; you can cancel future renewals from your account. Refunds and cancellations are governed by our Refund & Cancellation policy. Prices may change prospectively; changes never affect a term you have already paid for.
Government works (Bare Acts, Rules, circulars, notifications, judgments) are in the public domain and free to read. Reference books and articles are the property of their authors/publishers, licensed to you for personal professional use only. The Platform, its software, design and compilation are owned by iWalkedEarth. You may not copy or create derivative products from them.
Authorship is invitation-only. If you are invited and publish here, you confirm the work is your original content (or that you hold the rights), and you grant thelegal.guru a non-exclusive licence to host, display and distribute it on the Platform. Every submission is checked by an AI legal-soundness scan and approved by an editor before going live; we may decline or remove content. Royalties are paid per your author agreement (a share of book sales and of AI usage of your work). You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of what you publish.
The Platform and AI are provided "as is". While answers are grounded in and cite the loaded statutory sources, the AI can err, omit, or misinterpret. We do not warrant that the content or AI output is complete, current or error-free. Verify every cited provision against the primary source before relying on it.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, iWalkedEarth is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions taken in reliance on the Platform or AI output. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Platform is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law.
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for breach of these Terms, for non-payment, or to comply with law. On termination, your right to use paid content ends; the Refund policy governs any amounts.
We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified in-app or by email and apply prospectively. These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at [•place to be confirmed] have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions: info@thelegal.guru.
This is a plain-language draft for the pre-launch preview and will be finalised with counsel before public launch.
